100th Anniversary Statue of Liberty Buck Knives

A mounted and framed trio of 100th Anniversary Statue of Liberty Buck Knives, for sale at Winslow’s Motor Palace Mercantile.

100th ANNIVERSARY STATUE OF LIBERTY BUCK KNIFE Three Knife Set, models 500lb, 825, and 826

BUCK created the commemorative knives in 1986 to celebrate the anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. Crafted out of materials from the famous Statue during the restoration, the knives came with papers of authentication, signed by then-chairman of the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Foundation, Inc., Lee Iaccoca. The sealed paper backing prevents verification of whether authentication papers reside inside.

KNIFE 1: 100th ANNIVERSARY STATUE OF LIBERTY BUCK KNIFE MODEL # 500LB

100th Anniversary Statue of Liberty Buck Knives Model 500lb

A lovely knife crafted from authentic Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island National Monument materials including a wood handle made from Ellis Island facility doors. A copper inlay on the wood handle commemorates the 100th Anniversary. Etched in gold on the blade is an image of the Statue of Liberty. A date banner and the limited edition number should be on back, although I have not seen it since the display is sealed. The handle is 4.25″ in length and the blade is 3″ long.

KNIFE 2: 100th ANNIVERSARY STATUE OF LIBERTY BUCK KNIFE MODEL 825

100th Anniversary Statue of Liberty Buck Knives Model 825

This Made-in-USA Buck 825 Lockback Lock Blade knife measures 2-7/8″ (open is 4-3/4) and features the Statue of Liberty in pewter, plus a medallion inlay made of actual historic material from the Statue of Liberty restoration. The medallion has the inscriptions “LIBERTY” “AUTHENTIC MATERIALS” “1886 – CENTENNIAL – 1986.” On the back of the knife, “Keep the torch lit.

KNIFE 3: 100th ANNIVERSARY STATUE OF LIBERTY BUCK KNIFE MODEL 826

100th Anniversary Statue of Liberty Buck Knives Model 826

The gold-colored composite Made-in-the-USA Buck knife–like the model 500–bears the copper seal, gold Statue of Liberty, and blade engraved with the anniversary dates. Research shows it too has the “Keep the Torch Lit” phrase on the back along with special edition number–although again, I have not seen it.
