The Motor Palace and The Mercantile
Brian and Lori Law fell in love with Winslow Arizona in 2010 when they bought a shell of a building across from the Winslow theater, the 66 Motor Palace. They’ve been working on transforming the space into a dream residence/select-event venue ever since.
In 2017, another building lured them in, an operating antique store next to the Standin’ on the Corner Park. They plan to renovate and re-open as The Motor Palace Mercantile, an old style corner shop heavily influenced by their love of motorcycles and classic cars, likely including snacks and specialty foods along with vintage and new merchandise–all with an emphasis on Made in USA and handmade products from local makers.
Lori Bentley Law
For twenty-three years, Lori, an Arizona native and an Emmy-award-winning television photojournalist, worked for NBC until she relocated to Winslow. Here, she started Winslow.Town, an online magazine focusing on Winslow’s Historic Entertainment District. She loves classic cars, motorcycles, photography, and writing. You can read more about her novels on her author site, LoriBentleyLaw.com and about her fellow car and motorcycle loving girls on her blog, Motor Dolls.
Brian, a third generation motorcyclist, manages the Grand Canyon Harley-Davidson group of dealerships in Northern Arizona, with two full locations in Bellemont and Mayer, and two t-shirt shops in Sedona and Prescott. He spends any free moment he has either riding, tinkering, or staring in awe at his two-wheeled contraptions. Or eating tacos. Lots and lots of tacos. You can follow his adventures on the newly rebuilt 66 Motor Palace website!
Brian and Lori eagerly anticipate the completion of their building projects so they can at long last open up to the public!
