Changes are a comin’!
Hello friends!
At the start of the pandemic, Brian and I shifted the Mercantile’s business model. In addition to the American-Made goods, treats, and snacks we already carried, we added Danzeisen Dairy, produce, meat, pantry items, and specialty foods from around the world. We offered home delivery and curbside pickup. Not only did it keep us well-fed, we also had a great time with recipes and sharing photos with you all. Thank you for making such a weird situation, fun.
Now that things have changed back to a more normal way of living, it’s time for us to shift our model again. A big part of our plan when we retired from our careers and moved to Winslow was to travel more. Of course the pandemic threw a wrench in that plan. Now, we’re ready to get back to our original intention. In order to that, we need to eliminate some of the pantry-type and perishable items from our inventory and… find a new home for the Danzeisen.
Good news! Sonia from Flatbed Ford Cafe across the street will happily take over the Danzeisen. The cafe is open seven days a week and will be more convenient. She plans to continue with the pre-orders and will also stock items. We are still working out the details and will announce a date and more details soon.
For now, if you need Danzeisen this week, get your orders in by tonight at midnight!
The deadline is Monday May 9th by midnight for the Wednesday May 11th shipment!
Beeler’s Shipment in!
For our Beeler’s fan out there, we will continue to stock their fantastic high-quality frozen pork products. Saturday we got a shipment of ham steaks, bacon, pork medallions, “Big Dog” hotdogs, and–new to us–breakfast sausage! The breakfast sausage comes vacuum sealed in either six packs or eight packs. We ate some yesterday morning, and they are delicious! As with all Beeler’s products, they are made with humanely raised Heritage Duroc Pork and simple ingredients.
