New Danzeisen Shipment Day! Plus ideas for hot-weather meals!
While cool to see Kinsley Avenue how it might have looked in the 1890s with dirt roads, the new asphalt is fantastic! The project’s completion means it’s time to get back to our regular schedule–with a slight change. Our Danzeisen shipment will now arrive on Wednesdays.
If you PICK UP: You may pick up your goods once they arrive on Wednesday (we’ll post in the Facebook Group when the shipment arrives–usually mid-afternoon). Can’t pick up Wednesday? No problem. We are open Thursday – Saturday so you can pick up anytime between 10 am – 5 pm.
If you get HOME DELIVERY: Brian will now deliver your goods Thursday morning between 8 am and 10 am. If that doesn’t work for you, let us know and we’ll figure something else out!
Deadline Remains the Same!
Even though our shipment day is changing, the order deadline remains the same! Monday by 9 pm.
No new goods this week, but…
We have lots of great stuff in stock!
Have you heard about this week’s impending heatwave?? I don’t know about you, but Brian and I DO NOT want to turn on our stove during a 106-degree day. Instead, we’ll make refreshing Spring Rolls or cold Vermicelli Rice noodles—both of which we have in stock! (Click the highlighted items to see recipes)
Also great on a hot day, our Ventresca Tuna in Olive oil—big filets of premium tuna in high-quality olive oil. We love this tuna served cold with a freshly-made salsa.
Make your own Salsa!
You can easily make your own salsa using our Senor Manny’s salsa mixes in several varieties and heat levels! Simply combine with canned tomatoes for a super flavorful and fresh salsa. We have great Bello canned tomatoes in stock as well, imported from Italy with no citric acid or other unnecessary additives.
How about going outside to grill?
Another option to beat the kitchen heat is to cook outside. We have delicious Beeler’s Mild Italian sausage links that crisp up beautifully on the grill, or Beeler’s Pork Medallions, pictured below.
And for a Sweet Treat…
My great-aunt Tish used to make a Kentucky Applesauce Stack Cake of thin layers of homemade gingerbread with her own cinnamon applesauce. Once made, the cake went into the refrigerator overnight. It was so INSANELY good. I bet if you took Anna’s Ginger Thins, layered with our Sweet Times Apple Butter, and chilled you’d have a really similar result. Top it with Danzeisen whipped cream and you’d be golden. If you try it, send me a pic!
And there it is! This week’s update.
